Dr. Chandra Shekar Annamalai is a nephrologist and transplant physician from Bangalore. He has considerable expertise in dialysis, renal transplantation involving both living and deceased donors, and preventative nephrology. He also actively engages in teaching and conference proceedings and has a keen interest in academics and research.

He earned his PhD doctorate from the Renal Research Laboratory, Centre for Biomedical Research, VIT Vellore, India. His area of interest is the prevention of acute kidney injury, and he has elucidated in depth the role of catalytic iron in causing nephrotoxicity as well as methods to mitigate it. In addition, he presented a dissertation on immunotolerance in renal transplantation as part of the MSc Organ Transplantation programme at the Postgraduate School of Medicine, University of Liverpool, UK.

He is committed to eradicating preventable kidney disorders at the community level by engaging in public awareness campaigns and collaborating with other like-minded professionals. Last but not least, he is a trained Carnatic musician and a nature and street photography enthusiast.
